Hierarchy Management

Learn how to manage your hierarchy on NIC, i.e., add Agents/Offices, edit/update an Agent/Office, delete Agents/Offices, assign Agents to a different office, etc.

HIERARCHY MANAGEMENT

NIC's Hierarchy Admin Tool enables the Super User to add additional Agents/Offices to their hierarchy on NIC, edit/update existing Agents/Offices with new information, delete Agents/Offices from existing hierarchy and assign currently existing Agents to different offices.

ADDING ADDITIONAL AGENTS/OFFICES

NIC's Hierarchy Admin Tool enables the Super User to add additional Agents/Offices to their hierarchy on NIC.

  • From the Hierarchy Admin Tool select the level in your hierarchy where you would like to add the new Agent or Office
    (Depending on how your hierarchy is structured you can add the new Agent under the top level (BGA), Sales Manager, Office/Region)

  • Click on Create Subunit

  • From the Create a New Business Unit pop-up window:

    • From the drop-down menu, select Advisor​

    • Enter First Name, Last Name, Social Security Number (SSN), Email (these are mandatory fields)

    • Enter phone number, address, city, state, zip code
       

  • Click Submit

  • Click on Apply Changes

NOTE: You need to click on Apply Changes every time you make changes to the hierarchy. Your changes will be visible in the app the next day.

EDITING/UPDATING AN AGENT/OFFICE

To edit an Agent or Office:

  • Select the Agent or Office you would like to edit
     

  • Click on Edit Business Unit

  • From the Edit Business Unit pop-up window make the changes to the Agent

  • Click Submit

NOTE: You need to click on Apply Changes every time you make changes to the hierarchy. Your changes will be visible in the app the next day. 

REASSIGNING AGENTS

As a Super User you also have the ability to assign Agents to a different office.

  • Select the current office the Agent is under e.g. Garry Hill (Sales Manager)
     

  • Click on Reassign Subunits

  • Select the Agent or multiple Agents you would like to move
     

  • Click on Next

  • Select the new Business Unit or Office you would like to move the selected Agents to
     

  • Click on Next

  • Confirm Agent Reassignment
     

  • Click on Reassign

  • Find the new Business Unit that you have moved the Agents under and click on it

  • Your Agents will appear

  • Click on Apply Changes
